Racing Events

The Alabama Cup Racing Series is made up by the Locust Fork Invitational,
Mulberry Fork Festival and Locust Fork Classic races. Courses consist of about 25 gates, set on a class Il/lll rapids aproximately one hundred yards long. Race courses are spectator friendly with walking trails right beside the courses. Entrance fee donations are $3 per person or camping $5 per person, per night. Prices subjet to change. If camping, please be considerate of others by keeping noise down at reasonable hours and if there are no fire restrictions, do not leave them unattended. Dogs should always be on leashes and please pick up their waste.

The Locust Fork Canoe & Kayak Invitational was held February 13th, 2010. The Locust Fork Whitewater Classic has been changed to March 20th, 2010 to be a part of the Alabama Mountain Games (four days of events). See below for more information about the Alabama Mountain Games.

The Locust Fork Invitational and Classic will be located at Kings Bend in Cleveland, Alabama, just north of Cleveland off Hwy 231/79. Camping will be allowed Friday night March 19th at the Locust Fork location. We will hang wire and gates until Friday March 19th. If you show up before 11am Friday to help out you receive FREE BBQ lunch. Chilli or soup will be served for $5 donation Friday night and Art's BBQ banquet will start serving at 3pm on Saturday (price TBD). Awards ceremony and raffle will at Boogie Bottoms (time TBD). WE STILL NEED MANY VOLUNTEERS FOR GATE JUDGES AND COURSE CONTSRUCTION!!!

The Mulberry Fork Canoe & Kayak Race was held March 6th & 7th, 2010. This festival is located near Garden City, Alabama, located river right of the Mulberry River. There are two days of racing with live music and a silent auction, Awards Dinner and raffle held on the Saturday night. Chili cook-off and wire hanging the weekend before and gate hanging day before. If you would like to sponsor the Mulberry Fork races, please read this for more information.

The Alabama Mountain Games is a collection of outdoor sporting events, music, food, fun and adventure. Come join us on March 18-21, 2010 for the first annual gathering featuring NAWFest and the Locust Fork Whitewater Classic.

2010 Junior Olympics
In each of the age categories the following numbers qualify in a slalom or downriver race:
K-1 and K-1W top 4 finishers
C-1 and C-1W top 3 finishers
each C-2 class top 2 finishers
Age categories for 2010 (based on ICF and USACK standards)
Juniors are born in 1992 and 1993
Junior-16s are born 1994 and 1995
Cadets are born in 1996 and 1997
Cub cadets are born 1998 and later.
